At the back of beyond

Good things come to those who wait. On August 1, we finally decided to pay a visit at godfather Dani's 'empire' at the back of beyond... the camping ground 'Plauns' in Pontresina (Graubünden). It took us nearly four hours to get there by car, but it was really worth it!

The camping site in Plauns is indead lovely... trees, mountains, a tiny lake... and, as it was our national holiday, there was even special entertainment program that night: lampion procession, music, Italian food (superfine Risotto!!) and of course fireworks. The kids (and adults) enjoyed it.

Due to the fact that our family had no camping experience before, we've spent a funny time in the caravan (which was really tight for two adults and two lively kids!). Beside that it was strange to sleep in a sleeping bag, not to mention the fact, that it took us a walk of approx. 3 minutes to the next toilet and water-tap (which makes you think not twice, but three times before you wake up and go to pee in the middle of the night!) However, although it was quite fresh (after all we were at a hight of approx. 1100m, we've slept not too bad at all... except for the fact, that in this night me and Luana slept by mistake in each others slepping bag... me in hers, she in mine!

The other day went on excursion to the tiny but lovely village Pontresina. On our sightseeing tour we discovered a pretty old chapel, gaped into a gorge, studied herbs of the candy factory 'Ricola' and enjoyed a short walk through the forest.

Back in the camp we were planing our supper... which we supposed to have on Dani's brandnew terrace. But we disregarded Rodney who discovered a (indeed lovely) fireplace by the lake.

It goes without saying that it was impossible to move him from there anymore...

The next morning (everybody slept in the right sleeping bag) we decided to pay St. Moritz a short visit. No sooner said than done. One more time we'spend a wonderful day in the lovely countryside... and even had the chance to stop by a horse riding event. This time it was the three girls who didn't want to move on!

But as always, everything has an end, and we for our part had a long way back home. However, one thing is clear... we'll be back in autumn!

Liebä Dani. No einisch rächt härzliche Dank a Dich (und dini zwei Wyber) für die zwei tolle Täg.
